THE DESTRUCTION RADIUS OF THE MK19

TO: LETTER READERS?

THE FIRST LETTER POSTED WAS GOOD BUT I DONT THINK IT REPRESENTED THE MENTALITY OF A MARINE WRITING FROM IRAQ, SO AS AN ACTIVE DUTY MARINE IM DOING THE NATION A FAVOR. OHH AND IM IN CAMP AL ASAD, IRAQ. RIGHT KNOW SO I KNOW WHAT IM WRITING ABOUT... ! :)

CALLED TO DUTY2

My very Dear _____ ,

My forever lover, I MISS YOU SO. I’ve been trying to write to you since I arrived in this sand pit, and as tuff and ruff the Marine Corps has made me I’m hurting for your presence. I have so much to say, an you don’t even know how much I been thinking about our future. Just so you know the level of pain my lone heart feels for you and my beautiful ________ (Daughter). The pain inside me is so great that it feels as if one of my MK19 fails to shoot at a firing range, and we are left with 300 unused rounds… the thought makes me quiver, the hairs on the back of my head stand at attention as I type those words. Many people say why favor the MK19, well if you know the effective range of the MK 19, and the destruction radius of the MK19 relative to the size of the round, you would know…

woops I’m sorry honey I get carried away when I talk about weapons, you know me it reminds me of the time I was talking to you about my last rifle range score, you know how my last 2 shots meant getting high expert or getting the low expert, it was funny when I look back on its seriousness, but I was at 59 points at the 500 yard line and my last 2 shots meant the world to me. As I got in the prone position I ensured my structural position was at the lowest possible position so my body could be stiff, I also made sure my breathing was controlled, and for my front sight alignment and front sight picture was perfect, just like most of my shots, but for some reason I decided to open my left eye, instinctively my left eye looks at the range flag, at the exact same moment I saw there was a gust of wind running left to right, with at least a 9 to 15 mph difference, so I quickly ran my steps and aim at the left of the target. I SHOT! The target went down for scoring, and as the target is being analyzed for a hole, I’m second guessing my actions, but then the target comes up, with a shot dead center mass, I was to relieved…

woops there I go again.

Well I love you.

Write back lover… bye...
